Wellington Fly Control

Service Assurance: As with all pests, the successful treatment and prevention of a fly infestation starts with a thorough inspection, and in correctly identifying the specific fly species. Contrac2kill has a range of methods to eradicate and control all flying insects. Treatments will be tailored to your specific situation and requirements, and can include use of electrical light units, aerosol units, residual spray treatments, foggings and mistings. Our specialist technicians will advise you on exclusion and sanitation to assist with preventative maintenance.

Reason For Pest: Flies are the most important insect species affecting both humans and animals. Other than their obvious annoyance buzzing around people, flies carry and spread numerous diseases. Some bite, and some such as Bluebottles and the Common House Fly can contaminate foodstuffs and food production, causing not only financial damage, but potentially damage to your business reputation.

Season: Flying insects can be an all year problem depending on the environment and the species of insect you are dealing with. Common house flies and bluebottle flies are more prevalent during the hot summer months, whereas other flying insects can still be very active during the colder months. Depending on their environment conditions and food source they can survive easily.

Where They Live: Flies generally prefer to rest on corners and edges, or on thin objects. Indoors, they rest on floors, walls and ceilings during the day. Outdoors, they will rest on walls, plants, the ground, fence wires and garbage bins. Night resting places are usually near sources of food and 1.5 to 5m off the ground.Flies require moist organic matter to lay eggs and to reproduce. This may include anything from rotting carcasses, fruit and rubbish, to flesh wounds on animals, or food residue in drains.
